A non-political, non-religious and non-tribal association of Biu Local Government Area indigenes — united by one motto: Unity and Development.
Biu Forum is a non-political, non-religious and non-tribal association of Biu Local Government Area indigenes residing in Kaduna and other cities within Northern Nigeria. The Forum has its headquarters in Kaduna and branches nationwide.
Founded in April 2000 in Kaduna at the instance of a few pioneering members, the Forum has continued to grow steadily over the past 25 years, establishing branches in most northern cities across Nigeria.
Over its 25 years of existence, the Forum has lived up to its objectives through sensitization and mobilization of members on unity, peaceful coexistence, and donations to the less privileged. It has complemented Borno State government efforts — drilling a borehole at Government Girls Secondary School (GGSS) Biu in 2004, supplying healthcare facilities to Biu General Hospital, donating foodstuffs to IDPs in Biu, organizing anti-drug and anti-thuggery campaigns through radio jingles and youth counselling, and running skills acquisition programmes in agriculture, carpentry, welding, knitting, cooperative societies, ICT, and computer appreciation. Scholarships have been awarded to indigent students in tertiary institutions.
In 2007, the Forum organised a football competition among all eleven wards of Biu LGA to promote youth sports. In 2009, as part of its annual Biu Forum Day, it held a medical lecture where prominent doctors of Biu Emirate addressed members on diabetes, hypertension, and other health issues. During Ramadan, the Forum visits orphanage homes and prisons in Kaduna to donate clothes, toiletries, and foodstuffs to less privileged children and women.
To foster unity and brotherhood amongst its members nationwide irrespective of their tribal, religious, political and professional interest or gender.
To promote the development and progress of its members socially, politically, culturally, economically and in any other sphere of human endeavour that will be in the overall interest of Biu Emirate and its people.
To assist the less privileged in the society generally within the confines of the law.
